Marcus Goes to Minnesota

In March, Pam and Tracie Rock treated Marcus to a trip to Minnesota – talk about friends with benefits! Literally…Tracie works for Delta. This was just what Marcus needed – a full weekend of being spoiled and Tracie and Pam did not disappoint! Here are a few things they did together:

• Marcus wasted no time spending the $5 mommy and daddy gave him to spend. At the airport he bought a lego airplane that Tracie helped him assemble later that night. On the plane he watched Kung Fu Panda.

• The night they arrived they went to dinner at an Indian restaurant. Marcus ate so much he kept saying “I’m so full”. This didn’t stop him from getting a Dairy Queen afterward. Kudos to Marcus for trying new foods.

• Saturday morning Tracie made blueberry pancakes and bacon and Marcus kept asking “when are we going to Lego Land?” Next stop the Mall of America where there was an amusement park in addition to Lego Land. Marcus picked out a Star Wars Lego set and went on numerous rides.

• A much-needed nap was next on the agenda followed by dinner at California Pizza Kitchen and off to the movie theatre to see “Rango”. Of course Marcus ate lots of popcorn and loved sitting between his two dates

• The next day was another trip to Lego Land and more rides. Lunch at Bubblegum Shrimp, brand new shoes, and a redbox movie filled the day.

• Flying home was not an easy task seeing that each flight that day was oversold. Still, they were able to make it home just a few hours behind schedule by flying through Boise. Marcus didn’t mind seeing that he was able to watch his new DVD “How to Train Your Dragon.”

One concern Pam had about taking Marcus to Minnesota was that he would get homesick. Not a problem. Being Numero Uno for the weekend was what the doctor ordered to help Marcus adjust to yet another younger brother stealing his spotlight. Thank you Pam and Tracie!

On a hot air balloon ride with Pam.  Marcus also went on a carousel ride and haunted house with Tracie.

More fun at Lego Land.

The pilot gave Marcus a See's candy, let him wear his hat and told him he could sit in his seat.

Pam tells me that this ride terrified Marcus. At this point he doesn't know what's coming!

Fast asleep on the way home from the airport.
