Oregon

We're back from our annual trip to Oregon. We played and ate and slept...it was wonderful. Unlike last year, we didn't swim in the ocean much. The water was so cold that it was painful - even with wetsuits! Still, we went to the beach almost daily and let the boys play in the sand. Kjell and I did go boogie boarding one day. Most of all, we loved spending time and catching up with family. Kjell's sister Emma-Kate was married on Saturday and we were glad to be able to help out with the wedding. The boys were in heaven with all of the uncles playing with them, tractors, dirt, rides, hikes, ocean, etc. They slept beautifully every naptime and evening!

Photo 1 - A ride in the wagon. Doesn't Kjell look cute in boots?
Photo 2 - Holden's first haircut. Grandma Ruby did a great job and was impressed with how still Holden stayed.
Photo 3 - A ride on the Tilt-O-Whirl.
Photo 4 - A ride on Grandpa's tractor (when Marcus said his prayers that night he said "thank thee for scooping dirt and for scooping sticks").
Photo 5 - Holden on Grandpa Larry's lap.
Photo 6 - Back-row - Marcus, Bjorn, Holden, Kye, Shawn; Front-row - Keith, Emma-Kate, Kjell
Photo 7 - Kjell and Carl - do they look alike or what?!
Photo 8 - Ruby, Emma-Kate, & Olivia - Can you see Holden picking flowers?
Photo 9 - It took some bribing, but we convinced Marcus to hold Emma-Kate's train. She was escorted by her brother Bjorn.
Photo 10 - Uncles Kye and Bjorn playing catch with Marcus. Marcus insisted on calling Uncle Bjorn "J.P." who is my brother. We'd correct him and correct him, but Uncle Bjorn remained "J.P." throughout the trip:)
Photo 11 - McCord clan - Kye, Kjell, Larry, Ruby, Emma-Kate, Keith (the groom), Carl, & Bjorn (missing - Per, Shawn, Joshua, & Tryg).

5 Years and Counting

On Friday 8/8/08 Kjell and I celebrated 5 years of marriage. Kjell planned a date that began with dinner at Chef's Table (where we went on our first date when it was called Restaurant Roy and they took Starving Student cards!), followed by a very well-executed play, "the Hasty Heart", at Hale Center Theater (see photo).

I really scored when I married Kjell. He's been a caring and sensitive husband, a hard-working provider, and a hands-on dad. Here's to many more years together!

And yet another garage sale find...

How could I resist?

A "Fun" Workspace

When Kjell told me he wanted this room in his office to be "fun", I took his word for it. He had a few sleepless nights when he saw the paint colors I chose, but I think everything came together in the end. Don't the employees look like they are ready to party?

Our teething days are over...

Amazingly, Holden has already received all of his

teeth! He loves to bite into apples and chew gum....

Love Crew

My cousin Sandra, her husband Anthony, and their daughter Cassie (15 months) flew in from San Diego on Saturday to visit. We stayed busy walking to the park, hiking at Sundance, and strolling on BYU campus. When we weren't out and about we subjected Sandi and Anthony to hours of games, which kept us laughing, lots of cooking and eating and just catching up with each other's lives.
Photo 1 - On BYU campus. As you can see, the kids kept us on our toes and that Holden enjoys his new walking skills.
Photo 2 - Hands full of munchkins
Photo 3 - Anthony spent more time entertaining the kids than any of us. Marcus especially liked watching him play pool.
Photo 4 - Holden at Kjell's work party
Photo 5 - Marcus and his friend Isaac at Kjell's work party. They almost got trampled by the 3-legged race
Unfortunately, I didn't get any photos of our spectalar hike at Sundance. Of course, it was a lot longer than I remembered, but Sandi and Anthony were very good sports although we were all beat at the end after carrying our healthily plump children on our backs down a mountain!
Come see us again soon.
