6 weeks

Wether is 6 weeks old and has filled out nicely. He got more comments on his chubby cheeks then anything else at church today! We've been very pleased with how nicely his older brothers treat him - they both love to gently give him his pacifier and Marcus is always willing to run upstairs to throw away stinky diapers. Wether is down to 1 feeding a night, which helps me feel more rested in the morning. Here are some pictures taken on our nice, relaxing Sunday:

The namesake of William Wetherill Love

Wether comes by his name honestly; he is named after his great-grandfather William Wetherill Love (my dad's dad). My Uncle Bill is also named William Wetherill Love and Wetherill is the middle name of Uncle Bill's grandson Ty Wetherill and my cousin Thomas Wetherill.

Grandpa Bill died when I was a baby but his legacy lives on. I've never heard anyone that knew Bill speak of him without the greatest respect and admiration especially noting his kind heart, strong work ethic, and devotion to his family (he and Grandma Agnus had 3 sons too). I'm particular grateful for his contribution to our family's genealogy - his records have helped tremendously.

It's with great pleasure that we name our 3rd son after such a great man and hope that little WW will bring honor to Grandpa Bill's name and pass it on to many more generations.
PS - Grandpa Bill wrote a skating column for the New York Journal-American, hence the heading.

Unfortunately, almost everyone I've gotten responses from already has plans for Saturday night:( Sooo, I'm very sad to cancel the party and I apologize to the few of you that were planning on coming. Hopefully next time we'll have better timing.

Happy birthday to Kjell! Today he is the big 3-0.

4 and 5 weeks

Photo 1 - Wether (4 weeks) and daddy. Babies love all the expressions Kjell makes.

Photo 2 - Wether (5 weeks) and mommy. Wether slept through his first outing to church today.

Photo 3 - Marcus and friends on Marcus' bunk bed. Kat Quinn and Stacey Clark came over this week with their kids. We were in our first married ward together and used to hang out before any of the these kiddos were in the picture (no pun intended:) L-R Maggie & Cash Quinn, Ashlin, Abby, and Troy Clark, & Marcus McCord.

Photo 4 - Holden has been very good at using his utensils lately but spaghetti proved too much of a challenge for my hungry boy.

Photo 5 - Marcus loves to help mommy cook.

If you have 20 minutes...

...go to http://vimeo.com/2120177.

The video shows Rachel Esplin, a 20 year-old Harvard student, who participated in "Engaging Religious Difference: Personal Quests for Purpose,” during which Sally Quinn (a Newsweek reporter) interviewed five undergraduates to elicit their spiritual biographies.

And, if would like to let HBO know how very inappropriate and offensive it is to air on national television things that are sacred to members of the church, please drop them a note.

Lastly, 15 lbs. to go....

Desk & Hutch

I found a hutch online a few months ago that was the perfect dimensions for the desk in our office. I almost didn't buy the hutch because I had to buy the desk that matched it and we did not need another desk! I took a risk, bought the set with the intention of redoing the desk and selling it. It was a success! I bought both items for $90 and was able to sell the desk (that I spray painted black and added brushed nickel hardware) for $150 just a few hours after listing it on KSL. We stained the hutch to match the desk and trim in our office.
Photo 1 - Desk and hutch before.
Photo 2 - Hutch after staining it to match our office desk (yes Angie, the one we found at a garage sale and stripped and stained way back in 2004 - I still love it).
Photo 3 - Desk after.

Walking, walking, walking

Well, it's happened - I have to work to lose the weight I gained during pregnancy. I was one of those people back into my pre-pregnancy clothes within weeks after giving birth. Not so with baby #3 - I have 20 lbs to lose!

So, if you live in my neighborhood, maybe you've seen me walking - I go once or twice a day. Alone, with friends, in the morning, at night, pushing strollers, with a baby strapped to my chest, trying to keep up with Kjell, whatever - I want my jeans to fit! I'm also eating lots of fiber, drinking more water, making more healthy food choices, and nursing of course. As of today I have 17 lbs. left to lose (I've made a line graph I update daily:)

I'll update my blog occasionally with my progress; hopefully, this is another form of motivation to keep at it. And, if you want to go for a walk, you know who to call!

Older Brothers

More photos by my lovely sister-in-law Julie McCord who visited with her youngest son Lars from North Carolina last weekend. We had so much fun catching up but the time went by too quickly...fortunately Julie brought her camera to capture the kids in action.
Photo 1 - Grandma bought Marcus these sunglasses, which he is very consistent in wearing on sunny days.
Photo 2 - Marcus John
Photo 3 - Holden and cousin Lars McCord. They're just a few months apart...we used to think Holden had red hair but it looks like Lars got those genes. Photo 4 - Holden Kenneth
